ALEXANDRIA—The Casselman Vikings played two games this past weekend as they welcomed the Ottawa Jr. Canadians on Thursday night and travelled to Alexandria on Friday night to take on the Glens.

The Casselman Vikings travelled to the Billy Gebbie Arena in Alexandria on Fri., Dec. 13, to take on the Glens in the CCHL2. The Vikings were coming off their worst loss of the season dropping a 7-3 decision to the Ottawa Jr. Canadians the previous night; they looked to get back on the winning track.
The Glens took the first lead of the game when ex-Vikings Etienne Aguis-Pease scored at 17:55. The Glens took the 1-0 lead into the first intermission.
The Vikings knotted the affair at one when Evan Huntley scored his seventh of the season from Zachary Fournier and François Drouin at 6:50 of the second period. The Vikings took their first lead of the game when Chris Egener scored his first goal as a Vikings from Xavier Léveillé and Fournier on the power play at 8:25. The Glens got back to even when ex-Vikings Zachary Power scored at 11:59. The teams took a two-all draw into the second intermission.
The Glens retook the lead at 3:08 of the third period. The Vikings pulled their goalie in favour of an extra attacker with more than two minutes remaining in regulation but that didn’t work out as planned. Power scored his second of the game against his old team into the empty cage at 18:02. The Glens were not done there, as Power completed his hat trick with 31 seconds remaining in the game giving the Glens a 5-2 victory.
With the loss, the Vikings suffered a three-game losing streak which hasn’t happened for a couple of years. The Glens outshot the Vikings 33-28. Suffering the loss in the Vikings’ goal was Zachari Racine making 28 saves.
Canadians 7 Vikings 3
The Casselman Vikings welcomed the Ottawa Jr. Canadians to the J. R. Brisson Complex on Thurs., Dec. 12, in the CCHL2. The Vikings went into the game in fourth place in the Martin Division, two points behind the Embrun Panthers in fourth and four points behind the Canadians in second place.
The Canadians opened the scoring just 31 seconds into the first period to take a 1-0 lead. The Canadians made it 2-0 at 13:20 on the power play but the Vikings cut the deficit in half when Shawn Patterson scored his ninth goal of the season from François Drouin and Jason Cossette with just 47 seconds remaining in the first period. The Canadians took a 2-1 lead into the first intermission.
The Canadians made it 3-1 just 56 seconds into the second period and took a three-goal lead at 16:25. Despite outshooting the Canadians, the Vikings trailed 4-1 heading into the second intermission.
The Vikings got within two when Nicolas Chartrand scored his eighth of the season from Mathieu Talbot at 10:17 of the third period. The Canadians answered with a pair of goals at 11:33 and 15:49 taking a 6-3 lead. The Vikings got one back at 16:37 on the power play as Mikael Houle scored his sixth of the season from Patterson but the Canadians closed out the scoring at 17:09.
The Canadians took the game 7-3, handing the Vikings their second straight loss. The Vikings outshot the Canadians 39-28. Suffering the loss in the Vikings’ goal was Nick Campbell making 21 saves.
