The Embrun Panthers travelled to the Ma-te-Way Activity Centre in Renfrew on Fri., Dec. 13, to take on the Timberwolves in the CCHL2. RENFREW—The Embrun Panthers played just a single game this past week as they travelled to Renfrew on Friday night to take on the Timberwolves.

The Embrun Panthers travelled to the Ma-te-Way Activity Centre in Renfrew on Fri., Dec. 13, to take on the Timberwolves in the CCHL2. The Panthers went into the game in third place in the Martin Division, four points behind the Ottawa Jr. Canadians in second and six points behind the Ottawa West Golden Knights in the top spot.
The Panthers opened the scoring when Marshall Drevniok ripped home his sixth goal of the season from Tyler Cummins and Riley Carisse on the power play at 12:18 of the first period. The Panthers took the 1-0 lead into the first intermission.
The Timberwolves tied the game just 0:27 into the second period and took their first lead of the game at 3:56. The Panthers tied the game when Eric Skyba scored his 10th of the season unassisted while shorthanded at 9:05.
The Panthers retook the lead when Cayden Martin snapped home his fourth of the season from Skyba at 11:25 on the power play. The Panthers took a 3-2 lead into the second intermission.
The Panthers took a 4-2 lead when affiliated player Samuel Beaulne scored in his first game, unassisted at 4:42.
With just under two minutes remaining in regulation, the Timberwolves pulled their goalie in favour of an extra attacker but The Panthers’ defence was able to hold them off the scoresheet taking the game 4-2.
With the win, the Panthers move back to within two points of the second place Ottawa Jr, Canadians. The Panthers outshot the Timberwolves 33-32. Picking up his 12th win of the season was William Nguyen making 30 saves.
