EMBRUN—The Embrun Panthers played a pair of home games this past weekend as they welcomed the Richmond Royals on Friday night and the Winchester Hawks on Sunday afternoon.

The Embrun Panthers welcomed the Richmond Royals to the Palais des Sports on Fri., Nov. 22, in the CCHL2. The Panthers went into the game in a two-way tie for second place in the Martin Division, with the Ottawa West Golden Knights; with a win, the Panthers could move temporarily into sole possession of second.
The Panthers opened the scoring at 5:26 as Maverick Labrie scored his third goal of the season from Nathan Everett and Robert Beaudoin taking a 1-0 lead. The Panthers made it 2-0 when Marshall Drevniok snapped home his second of the season from Tristan Taillefer and Cayden Martin at 11:32.
The Royals got one back with 2:02 remaining in the opening frame but trailed 2-1 going into the first intermission. The Panthers restored a two-goal lead when Taillefer scored his 17th of the season from Matthieu Brennan and Eric Skyba at 13:09 of the second period.
The Panthers took a three-goal lead when Martin scored his second of the season from Drevniok and Carter Peck at 15:51. The Panthers took a 4-1 lead into the second intermission. The Panthers made it 5-1 when Skyba scored his sixth of the season from Taillefer at 2:55 of the third period.
The Royals cut into the Panthers’ lead with a pair of goals at 12:37 and 18:06 to make it 5-3. The Royals pulled their goalie in favour of an extra attacker but it was the Panthers’ Jeremy Cyr finding the empty net at the far end with 1:18 remaining in regulation from Beaudoin.
The Panthers took the game by a score of 6-3 and with the win, moved into sole possession of second place. The Panthers outshot the Royals 41-25. Picking up the win in the Panthers’ goal was Josh Paradis making 22 saves.
