Participants were provided with a passport that could be stamped while visiting the participating merchants, and handed in at your last stop to be entered in a draw for the event’s grand prize. This year, close to 15 businesses participated in the Shop Crawl with additional vendors and luncheon available for purchase at the Joel Steele Community Centre.
The Painted Arrow Flowers and Gifts were open in their new location in the historic Angus house on St. Lawrence Street. Owner Kelly Windle mentioned there were lots of people visiting the store which offers a variety of Canadian gifts, full floral services with workshops available. Windle mentioned there are plans to hold a periodic pop up service in one of the main level rooms where local artists will be able to showcase their work.
Forever Young owner, Colleen Young called the event absolutely “fantastic” with a great turnout mentioning the business had begun ten years ago in Chesterville with her opening a second store in Winchester a few years ago.
Carolyn Thompson Goddard, grew up in Chesterville and attended North Dundas District High School. After completing her BA in Political Science at Carleton University she has worked as a medical secretary and library technician. In 2020 she graduated from Algonquin College with a diploma in Journalism and has been a reporter and column writer for The Chesterville Record for over 10 years.
