Biggest ever Meet Me on Main Street for Morewood
The politicians and staff of the Township of North Dundas were on hand to volunteer their time at the third rendition of Meet Me on Main Street in Morewood on Wed., July 3. The event was first introduced in 2017 to great fanfare and it was brought back in 2018 with the crowds growing even larger. Organizer, Brandon Cousineau estimated that 250 people showed up over the three hour celebration this year. Local distillery new to Meet Me on Main Street
Nate Heuvel of King’s Lock Craft Distillery displayed his wares at the Meet Me on Main Street in Morewood on Wed., July 3. This is the first time there has been a distillery operator at the Meet Me on Main Street series over the three years and they had quite the selection including a garlic vodka and 1000 Islands Moonshine bourbon. MOREWOOD – In these constantly changing weather patterns, going from hot to cool, sunny to rainy, many events this summer have not had Mother Nature on their side. Fortunately, attendees in Morewood on Wed., July 3 for the kick-off of the third annual Meet Me on Main Street series were met with warm temperatures and clear skies.

A section of Moffat Street was closed off from traffic to allow residents to take part in what food, craft brews and entertainment the area had to offer.

While the band Widow Yokum filled the air with musical entertainment, local breweries – Humble Beginnings, Tuque de Broue, winery – Smokie Ridge Vinyard and distillery – King’s Lock were wetting everyone’s whistles with their selection of beverages during the hot evening. There was also a busker named Cowguy who entertained the crowd by eating fire.

Children were able to take part in face-painting provided by Morewood Recreation and bounce their troubles away, in the bouncy castle provided by Southgate Church. The Snack Shack, Simply Baked and Triple B’s were also on location, feeding hungry mouths who needed a break from all the fun and excitement.
