UCMHL silver medalists
The Major Midget Demons picked up a silver medal after dropping their game 5-0 to the Char-Lan Rebels in Williamstown on Wed., March 27, in the UCMHL final. WILLIAMSTOWN—The North Dundas Major Midget Demons were forced to a game five for their last game of the season as they travelled to Williamstown on Wednesday night to take on the Char-Lan Rebels.

The North Dundas Major Midget Demons travelled to the Char-Lan Recreation Centre in Williamstown on Wed., March 27, to take on the Rebels in game five of the first to five points UCMHL final. The Demons took the first two games of the series and had two chances to knock off the regular season champs, the Rebels, with a win or a tie.
The Demons came close in their past game but came up one goal short with a 3-2 loss. This game was for the championship, so the team would need to win the game outright or go to overtime to determine a winner.

The Rebels got on the board first at 4:09 of the first period taking a 1-0 lead. The Rebels took the 1-0 lead into the second period and added to it at 8:53 to make it 2-0. The Rebels took a three goal lead at 10:11 and a four-goal lead at 11:48. The Rebels took a commanding 4-0 lead into the third period.
The Demons tried to get on the board and had some good scoring chances but frustration began to set in and they ran into penalty troubles. The Rebels made them pay scoring a late power play goal with 1:23 remaining.
The Rebels took the game 5-0. Suffering the loss in the Demons’ goal was Toby Byrne. The Demons settled for the silver medal to end their season.
The Demons, who were given no chance to win this series will look back and be proud, taking the regular season champions to five games.
