RUSSELL—The St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic High School Ravens’ Junior boys’ basketball team played a PRSSAA A final against the École secondaire catholique Le Relais from Alexandria on Friday afternoon.

The St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic High School Ravens’ Junior boys’ basketball team welcomed École secondaire catholique Le Relais on Fri., Feb. 15, for the PRSSAA A championship. The Ravens came out of the gate on fire scoring 14 first-quarter points and held Le Relais to just a single.
The Ravens showed no signs of slowing down offensively scoring 19 more points in the second quarter. Their defence held Le Relais to just eight points in the second and took 33-9 lead into the break at halftime.
The Ravens slowed a little in the third quarter only scoring seven points but the defence held Le Relais to just four. The Ravens took a commanding 40-13 lead into the final quarter. Le Relais had their best quarter of the game scoring 10 points in the fourth but the Ravens were just too strong on this day as they dumped another 17 points taking the game 57-23. With the win, the Ravens move on to EOSSAA A championship held on Tues., Feb. 26 at St. Thomas but first they will play a AA team for the championship.
Scoring for the Ravens were Callum Tait with 15 points, Callum Birch with 12, Matt Pietrkiewicz with 10, Dylan Clune with eight, Kai Daniel with six and Brock Ballantyne and N. P. with three each.
