Junior T-Wolves end year on a high
The Russell High School T-Wolves Junior basketball team welcomed the École secondaire catholique régionale de Hawkesbury Kodiaks on Wed., Feb. 6, in the PRSSAA. RUSSELL—The Russell High School Junior T-Wolves basketball team welcomed École secondaire catholique régionale de Hawkesbury Kodiaks on Wed., Feb. 6, PRSSAA.
T-Wolves 63 Kodiaks 41
Both teams went into the game knowing they were not moving onto the playoffs for this season, so there was just pride and bragging rights on the line.
The T-Wolves took the early lead knocking down 20 points in the first quarter, holding the Kodiaks to 12. The Kodiaks rebounded in the second quarter narrowly outscoring the T-Wolves 14-13 but the T-Wolves took a 33-26 lead into the break at the half.
The T-Wolves’ remained consistent scoring another 13 points but their defence held the Kodiaks to just eight points. The T-Wolves took a 46-34 lead into the final quarter. The T-Wolves saved their best offence until the fourth quarter dropping 17 points on the Kodiaks.
The T-Wolves held the Kodiaks to just seven points in the quarter, taking the game 63-41. Scoring for the T-Wolves were Scott Roos with 26 points, Evan Houle with 10, T. W. with nine, Connor Ross and Sam Peters with five each and Ruben Jaquemet and Owen Johnson with four each.
