Eric Duncan eyes seat as next SDSG Conservative MP
WINCHESTER – After Guy Lauzon shook the region with his surprising retirement announcement, the Township of North Dundas only had one thing on their mind, “What’s your next move, Eric?”
Well ask and you shall receive as former North Dundas Mayor Eric Duncan officially announced his campaign launch Thurs., Jan. 31 to run for Conservative Member of Parliament of the Stormont-Dundas-South Glengarry area.
“Ever since I was a kid, ever since I can remember, I’ve always had this dream to serve in the House of Commons to represent my community and country,” said Duncan. “The question was of when this was going to happen because you don’t set plans too far in advance. I didn’t know that when I chose to not run for mayor again, that [Lauzon] would be retiring but the door opened and it seemed like now’s my chance to grab for the opportunity and take my shot.”
