RUSSELLL—The Russell High School Junior T-Wolves basketball team welcomed their cross-town rivals, the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic High School Ravens on Wed., Nov. 28, in PRSSAA.
Ravens 70 T-Wolves 27
The Ravens started with a hot hand scoring 24 points in the first quarter holding the T-Wolves to just four. The Ravens didn’t let up knocking down another 17 points while the T-Wolves were only able to drop five.
The Ravens took a 41-9 lead heading into the break at halftime. The T-Wolves scored seven points in the third but the Ravens had no mercy scoring another 17 points taking a 58-16 lead into the final quarter.
The fourth quarter was the closest but the Ravens narrowly outscored the T-Wolves 12-11. The Ravens took the game 70-27 picking up their first win of the season and handing the T-Wolves their first loss.
Scoring for the T-Wolves were Scott Roos with 11, Ruben Jaquemet with six, T. W. with four and J. H., Evan Houle and Sam Peters with deuces.
Scoring for the Ravens were Callum Tait with 18, Aidan Nyentap with 15, N. P. with 10, Kallum Birch with seven, Brock Ballantyne and Matt Pietrkiewicz each scored six and Kai Daniel and Dylan Klune each scored four.
