Rolling through the station
The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train arrived in Finch, celebrating 20 years of collecting food and raising funds for local food banks across North America. Since the program’s launch in 1999, the CP Holiday Train has raised more than $14.5-million and gathered approximately 4.3 million pounds of food for people in the community struggling to make ends meet.    Glover photo

FINCH – ‘Tis the season to watch out, look around. Something is coming to town!

In Finch, it was the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train, featuring performances from Kelly Prescott, Sierra Noble and Canadian county music legend, Terri Clark!

The holiday train made its way through the town of Finch to donate to the local food banks, including Winchester’s Community Food Share, which received $4,000 from Canadian Pacific. By the end of the event, Community Food Share had also accumulated an additional $2,807 and 1,650 pounds of food from on-site donations.

The trio performed a number of classic holiday favourites including “Santa Claus is coming to town” and “Sister Christmas”, in which Clark and Prescott sang as a duet.

The CP Holiday Train continued its tour through Merrickville, Smiths Falls and Perth.
