RUSSELL – On Aug. 8, the United Counties of Prescott and Russell (UCPR) proceeded with the donation of one of its ambulances to the non-profit organization Firefighters Without Borders (FWB) Canada. The ambulance will be placed into service in Samaná Province in the Dominican Republic, and will be accompanied by several other emergency vehicles. This ambulance represents the second donation made by the UCPR through this organization.
The mission of FWB Canada is to assist the emergency service agencies of these nations by helping to improve their ability to effectively provide a higher level of emergency services to their communities. A team of 20 firefighters will travel from Dec. 1 to Dec. 8 to provide training to the Dominican firefighters. The UCPR would like to thank FWB Canada for helping emergency service agencies in need.
