LONG SAULT – The Township of South Stormont invited residents in the Chase Meadows Subdvision in Long Sault and other interested residents to attend a public meeting on June 20 to discuss input on the possible relocation of the parkland in the subdivision as proposed by Brownsdale Homes to the municipality.
South Stormont director of parks and recreation Kevin Amelotte, in an email to the Record, commented “approximately 30 people” attended the event with the number including “staff, developer, council and residents.”
Amelotte continued how comments for the proposal included some recognizing “the potential future benefits of the change and others felt it might be best to simply keep the parcel of land that is currently dedicated to the Township.” He concluded that the comments received prior to and during the June 20 meeting will be included in a report to South Stormont Council on July 18 at which time “council will have the opportunity to review the proposal and make a final decision.”
