Russell Jr. Gardeners enjoyed a fun evening with John Mesman, speaker from South Nation Conservation, who shared information about the contents and value of healthy soil. John explained how burying a pair of 100 per cent cotton undies could demonstrate the biological activity and health of the soil. Each of the children received a pair of undies to plant for two months and then exhibit in a display at Russell Fair.
