EMBRUN—The Russell High School Timberwolves Girls’ basketball team travelled to Ecole secondaire catholique Embrun (ESCE) in Embrun on Wed., Oct. 18, to take on the Dynamos in PRSSAA. The T-Wolves went into the game with a perfect 3-0 record and looked to extend their winning streak.

The Dynamos put up a good fight but after the smoke cleared the T-Wolves came out with a 45-29 victory. The T-Wolves’ Vanessa MacDonald led the way with 18 points and Zahra Hassane added another 14. The T-Wolves played the game with just eight players as four players were absent.

The T-Wolves’ coach Kevin Kennedy commented, “We had one player out of town and three dealing with various injuries, so the eight healthy players we had left really stepped up and made major contributions on offence and defence to help us get the win.”
