ANDREWS WEST – Member of Parliament for Stormont-Dundas-South Glengarry Guy Lauzon and his wife, Frances, were the utmost hosts at the well-attended 13th annual constituency picnic at their residence in St. Andrews West last Sun., Aug. 13. Perennials and annuals were in full bloom surrounding the house and garden, accented by varied colours and floral fragrances to add to the ambience of a summer garden party.
Adrian Bugelli, Chief of Staff for Guy Lauzon’s office, manned the barbecue station at the annual constituency picnic on Sun., Aug. 13, and further demonstrated his additional skills as a chef.
More than just the promised barbecue, refreshments, live music and a bouncy castle for children, the afternoon brought a relaxing, pleasant event with sunny skies and no sign of rain. Lauzon commented that it was great to have family members as musicians – his brother, a nephew and a friend from New Hampshire all on guitars, having just practised for the first time prior to the event – working for the family rate, not to mention Frances’ singing talents for a few numbers. Other friends and family members helped cook and serve the delicious barbecued burgers and hot dogs, with additional sides, which included chips, salad and dessert.
Lauzon’s newly released autobiography, From Lawbreaker to Lawmaker, was available for purchase at the entrance to the garden. Guests were pleased to have Lauzon sign a personal note to them as well.
Adrian Bugelli, Chief of Staff for Lauzon’s office. informed The Record that attendee numbers were estimated to be about 350, up from last year’s 250.
