WINCHESTER – Funtastic Pools and Spa in Winchester marked its 10th anniversary on Sat., July 22, at their business location in Winchester with a barbecue and customer appreciation party.
Co-owner Arden Carruthers prepared the pulled pork while son and co-owner Trevor greeted customers, along with help from other family members. About 100 people were expected to attend.
The business was purchased 10 years ago by the Carruthers and is still in the same location where a pool store has been for over 50 years.
Trevor says the business has changed in some ways but not in others over the last decade. Additional residents moving into towns and villages outside Ottawa, as well as a good reputation, have meant the business has continued to thrive. It doesn’t have a large showroom or flashy spot, but Trevor says their location, at 405 May St. in central Winchester, has always been very good for walk-ins, although now most of his clients come through referral by other satisfied customers.
