CHESTERVILLE – While there was heavy rain, thunder and lightning outside, people were able to enjoy Meet Me on Main Street Chesterville inside the arena at the fairgrounds in Chesterville on July 24.  For a few seconds, the lights inside the arena flickered but that didn’t stop the socializing, dining, fun games and live music during the early evening event.

“We have pretty much been to every Meet Me on Main Streets.” said Bruce Currie.  Bonnie Castle commented how she and Bruce were called the Winchester Wavers, with both wearing a special Meet Me on Main Street t-shirt they had purchased a few years ago.

People were able to enjoy a variety of meal options, with C&C Pizza Factory, Simply Baked Catering, the Chesterville & District Lions Club as well as the Demon’s Den Canteen serving up food and beverages for people of all ages to enjoy.  Humble Beginnings Brewery, King’s Lock Craft Distillery and Windmill Brewery were on hand, serving up refreshments for adults to enjoy while listening to the music of the Ken Workman band.

North Dundas Fire Prevention members were at the event providing information and swag to those at the event, while The Gathering House provided a variety of games for youngsters and people were playing a game of cornhole thanks to the North Dundas Cornhole League.

The final Meet Me on Main Street in North Dundas for 2024 is scheduled for Wed., July 31 in Winchester.  This summer series of community events began in 2017 in celebration of the 150th anniversary of Canadian Confederation in the municipality of North Dundas.
