The St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic High School Intermediate Girls’ Ravens travelled to St. Francis Xavier Catholic High School on Tues., May 16, to participate in the year-end PRSSAA tournament for the championship. In their first game, the Ravens took on the Russell High School T-Wolves and won a hard fought 27-24 victory. The Ravens then moved on to face the home team Falcons after the Falcons blew out the Rockland District High School Wildcats. The Falcons were the top ranked team in the regular season so the Ravens had their work cut out for them but they battled the Falcons to the last minute and pulled out a 32-27 upset victory, taking home the championship. The winning team members are: (not in order) Meadow Donnelly, Rachel Drevniok, Emma Gordon, Paige Hannaford, Katelyn Knap, Kate Lamothe, Ally Marcellus, Kyra Streng, Kayley Toth, Grace VanNoppen, Emily Way, Keeley Zandbelt and Mackenzie Campbell; also in the photo are Coach David Brookes, Team Manager Erin McLeod and Assistant Coach Kylie Knap.
