Horse loving at its best – CV’s Performance Horses
APPLE HILL – Crystal Vogel owns and operates CV’s Performance Horses in Apple Hill, Ontario. Her facility offers horse riding, boarding, and training.
CV’s Performance Horses was born out of Crystal’s passion for horses. Having started riding herself at a young age and competing in the western pleasure, western games, and reigning rings, she is well equipped with both the hands-on and technical coaching style.
She grew up on her family farm just down the road from her horse training operation and has learned how to care and provide for livestock as well as for her favourite passion, horses.
Crystal started riding when she would visit her grandparents on the farm. At the age of six her cousin would give her lessons and had her show for the first time at the Williamstown Fair.
At the age of 10, she started taking more competitive lessons. Through this training and her 4-H club participation, she spent most of her summers learning about horses.
Crystal attended the University of Guelph Kemptville Campus, where she graduated in 2015 with a two-year diploma in Equine Care and Management.
Crystal focuses her personal goals on her western barrel racing and pole bending. She has qualified five times for the Quebec provincials and has competed in the barrel racing event, pole bending and western pleasure classes.
Crystal feels strongly that learning to handle the horse on the ground, through to learning the proper riding skills, ensures that any rider can achieve their personal goals in whatever desired discipline the rider chooses.
“Horses are animals, and they can be unpredictable at times, but with proper training a rider can confidently and safely handle their animal,” Crystal said.
“Horses have a very calming effect, and for many this is the relaxing time; for others who live for speed and challenges, western gaming may be the chosen discipline.”
With excellent indoor and outdoor facilities, CV’s Performance Horses can accommodate lessons year-round.
Crystal will design, and customize her lessons based on what her client is interested in. You can choose to learn the basics or compete at shows with other team members, the opportunities are there.
If you are looking for a safe, reliable barn to board your horse, Crystal puts her heart and sole into every horse on the property, caring and monitoring each, and everyone daily like it is her own.
If training is what you are after, Crystal enjoys training horses to be safe, and respectful to their owners.
