GLENGARRY-PRESCOTT-RUSSELL – Victor Brassard is the candidate for the New Blue party in Glengarry – Prescott-Russell in the upcoming provincial election on June 2.
He explained on his official election webpage: “My life has been a wonderful journey. When I turned sixty, I told family and friends that I was halfway there. With seven children ranging from five to 39, and eight grandchildren, I have been gifted with a life of many adventures. I’ve always had the heart of an entrepreneur, starting businesses and organizations from the ground up, whilst having a desire to empower others. My passion has always been to support people.”
He has worked in Manila to combat trafficking, and in Haiti to bring medical supplies and build houses for the homeless. He spent three years in Montreal where he started groups to help teenagers. Brassard worked as a volunteer at McGill University where he challenged students to look at life, truth, and freedom.
“In the late 80s, I started a school in Vancouver that trained people on how to actively participate in society. This was an outreach that grew from one to 30 quickly, and helped thousands of young people on the streets,” he said.
During the 90s he continued to pursue his entrepreneurial skills while coaching hockey and lacrosse.”
He recently sold his businesses in Montreal so that he could follow his heart, and passions, which included building an organic sustainable farm.
He said, “I’ve always had a voice, expressing life, truth, and freedom. Politics is not something that I have sought after, but life has called me and is challenging me to take this road. I will serve my community with all my heart and soul. Be the change that you want to see.”
