PERTH – The 2024 Eastern Ontario Drama League’s One Act Festival was held in Perth between Nov. 1 and 3. Dundas County Players received the award for Best Production for their entry “Last Tango in Little Winchester” with Rick Ventrella and Harmony Koiter receiving nominations for acting awards.

The EODL One Act Festival was described as a “gathering of different Eastern Ontario theatre companies, each performing a one act play to provide a weekend of theatre entertainment.” by Erik Hutten, producer of the play.

The troupe’s entry into the festival was originally named “Last Tango in Little Grimley” written by David Tristram, with Hutten explaining the name was changed with the permission of Tristram. Cast members performing were Len Tremblay, Sharron Anderegg, Rick Ventrella and Harmony Koiter.

“I am very proud of my cast and all that they’ve achieved. They have been a joy to work with and I am always impressed by their creativity and willingness to explore each moment. A big thank you to my stage manager Chantal Nugent for always being organized and patient with me. And a big thank you to our Stand in/stage hand Sandra McNeill for always being there to help. I am grateful to having such a talented group of people, without which, this couldn’t have been achieved.” said Erik Hutten, producer of the play.

The “Last Tango in Little Winchester” is one of three one act plays being presented by DCP in their fall production with evening performances on Nov. 15, 16, 22 and 23 and Sunday matinees on Nov. 17 and 24.
