SOUTH STORMONT – SDSG MPP Nolan Quinn announced on Wed., Sept. 18, the Township of South Stormont would receive a 21.9 million dollar grant from the Housing Enabling Water Systems Fund.

“We are thrilled to partner with the Province of Ontario under the Housing Enabling Water Systems Fund to help our community grow and contribute to realizing the shared goals of increasing our housing supply,” says Mayor Bryan McGillis in a press release dated the same day. These funds will be used to enhance the Long Sault Water Treatment Facility as well as the Ingleside Wastewater Treatment Facility expansion.

SDSG MPP Nolan Quinn explained how “these investments are a key part of Ontario’s commitment to building 500,000 new homes and improving our critical infrastructure”, adding the region and the Township of South Stormont will benefit from this funding. “We are not only addressing current needs but also ensuring a sustainable and prosperous future for all Ontarians” concluded MPP Quinn.
