WINCHESTER – The fundraising for the new Dundas Manor being built in Winchester received a boost of close to $20,000. A cheque presentation was held at Cloverdale Links golf course on July 22nd with the WDMH Foundation receiving $18,542.55 from “Swing for the Seniors” a four-day golf fundraising event held at Cloverdale Links.
“We are looking forward to a bigger and better golf tournament for the new Dundas Manor next year” commented Gib and Martin Patterson. Clapp explained Gib and Elsie Patterson, owners of Cloverdale Links, hosted the fundraiser “with 50% of the cost to play golf” designated for the donation towards the construction of the new Dundas Manor.
“It was a fun event for a good cause” commented Tom Clapp who with his wife Jan Clapp, Patricia Casselman, Kaitlyn Thurler, John Polak, Michael St. Amour and Phyllis McMaster organized the event.
Clapp extended his thanks to members of the organizing committee and the following sponsors: Louis’ Restaurant; John Thompson Electric; Jason Munro Plumbing; Swish Inc.; Dundas Milk Producers, and golf pro Kurtis Barkley.
Carolyn Thompson Goddard, grew up in Chesterville and attended North Dundas District High School. After completing her BA in Political Science at Carleton University she has worked as a medical secretary and library technician. In 2020 she graduated from Algonquin College with a diploma in Journalism and has been a reporter and column writer for The Chesterville Record for over 10 years.
