RUSSELL – Beyond the House Garden Centre in Russell will be hosting the Bloom and Art festival on Sat., July 8 and Sun., July 9. This art exhibition and sale will showcase various forms of visual media, sculpture, stained glass, and stone.

There are 16 confirmed artists, including three students from the two Russell High Schools. The festival will include a “Retrospective Exhibition”, highlighting the works of past local artists as part of the 125th Anniversary of the Village of Russell.

Exhibits will include work from Artists: Klaska Boersma, Simon Koo, Peter Griffin, Carol Rowland, Tony Cannons, Liz Spencer, and Heather Presley.

On Saturday, there will be music from Jessica Pearson and the East Wind who will be performing live between 1:00 p.m.  and 3:00 p.m., as well as a BBQ with proceeds going to the Arts Programs at the two Russell high schools. The BBQ will be held between 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

There will also be a raffle for two generously donated art pieces. Kimberley Kargus – Glassworks for good has generously donated a beautiful stained-glass piece entitled “The Experimental Gardener” and Ellie Bloxham of Bloxham Studio has generously donated a gorgeous carved limestone piece for the garden entitled “Secret Garden”.

Tickets are available in-store or online in the drop-down section of this Events page. One ticket for $10 or three for $20! Proceeds from ticket sales will also be distributed between the two Russell High Schools to support their arts’ programs.

Beyond the House will be offering special discounts in the Garden Centre during the weekend as well!
