The South Dundas Fire and Emergency Services is committed to the safety and well-being of our community. As a result of the air quality statement issued by Environment Canada, our acting fire chief has made the difficult decision to implement a burn ban as of 12:30 p.m. on Tues., June 6, 2023.
All current active burn permits are suspended, and no open-air fire, recreational or agricultural burning is to take place in the Municipality.

North Dundas
Brush and agricultural open air fires are not permitted until further notice. Campfire and recreational fires are permitted.

North Stormont
Due to the dry conditions and current air quality warnings in our region and as allowed in bylaw 53-2018, as amended, the North Stormont Fire Department has issued a total burn ban effective immediately. Under a total ban, campfires are not permitted.

South Stormont
South Stormont Fire and Rescue is committed to the safety and well-being of our community. As a result of the air quality statement issued by environment Canada, fire chief Lamer has made the difficult decision to implement a burn ban as on 10:30 a.m. on June 6, 2023, as per bylaw 2009-40.
All current active burn permits are suspended and no Open-Air Fire burning is to take place in the township, this includes recreational fires. Russell Township
Due to the dry weather conditions and no significant amount of precipitation in the immediate future, the Russell Township Fire Services has implemented a total fire ban in the Township of Russell as of Tues., June 6, 2023 at 8 a.m.
All open-air fires are prohibited until further notice. This includes backyard campfires and even those property owners who have a valid fire permits. Only certified barbecues, natural gas and propane outdoor fireplaces with a gas shut off are allowed.
