Let’s face it, we are all wanting to make the most out of the time we have on this planet.
If you choose to spend that time increasing your education, having a positive impact on your community or focusing on yourself and your family; who makes the decision of what is right and wrong?
It is up to you to decide what is right and wrong for yourself.
For those who choose to give of themselves to their community, it can often be a very thankless focus.
Being at the forefront and ridiculed for decisions that some people do not like is not an easy task.
Stay focused and true to your passions and beliefs and those that follow will be there through the good and the bad.
As we progress into the municipal elections, you will see that there are people who have put their names forward for their own beliefs and to achieve their personal goals, and for others, they are truly there because a focus of their life’s goals is to improve the community they live in and to offer the best solutions they have for those residing in those communities.
Will we always agree? I learned a long time ago, that you will never please everyone, so if everyone involved feels they have a chance at the driver’s seat, then everyone is a winner.
As we move towards the election day, keep in mind that your opinion matters, but do not forget that those people who have put their names forward are not just members of the community, but are also someone’s parents, or children who may not always agree with you, but personal attacks are not necessary.
Open discussions on topics that are close to your heart are important but personal attacks do not resolve any issues and most definitely will not improve the quality of life in our region.
Take the road less travelled and get your point across with facts and negotiate your position. You will achieve more, and our townships will continue to grow and prosper.
