WINCHESTER – In a press release from Cindy Adams, Communication Lead, WDMH Foundation, a heartfelt thank you was extended “to the generous women of Iroquois!”.
“Sugar Babies”, a fundraising event held in October 2019 and spearheaded by Candace Latulippe and Evonne Delegarde, raised $717.00 “for WDMH’s Diabetes Education Program. Adams explained the ladies only event provided an opportunity for socializing, competing “in a variety of games” and a “serenades from Elvis himself!” while raising funds “through ticket sales, a 50/50 draw, and raffles”.
The press release explains while the cheque presentation for the October event was held in March 2020, Covid-19 “delayed the official announcement until now”, before continuing how “we didn’t want to miss the opportunity to say thank you to the generous women of Iroquois!”.
Cindy Peters, Manager of Direct Mail and Events, commented how “Candace and Evonne have done a number of events like this for various charities and the WDMH Foundation is honoured to be included”. Peters continued how “Events like these, organized by generous community members, really make a difference and we are grateful!”.
The Diabetes Education program at WDMH “supports people with diabetes, helping them to live well with the knowledge and support they need. The program includes individual appointments as well as group classes – all provided free of charge.”
