RUSSELL—The Prescott-Russell Rockets played a single game this past week as they welcomed the Smiths Falls Storm on Thursday night.

The Prescott-Russell Rockets welcomed the Smiths Fall Storm to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic High School on Thurs., March 12, in the Eastern Ontario Basketball League-East. The Rockets’ roster consists of players from Prescott-Russell, Casselman, Embrun, Russell, Hammond and other locales. The Rockets owned a 2-1 record and looked to move up the ladder.
This was the Rockets’ fourth game of the spring season and they were looking for another win. The Storm came out of the starting gate on fire scoring 19 first-quarter points and allowing the Rockets to put up just 13.
The Rockets exploded in the second quarter dropping 24 points on the Storm holding them to just 13 points offensively. The Rockets took a 35-32 lead into the break at halftime. The Rockets kept the pressure on the Storm scoring 21 more points in the third quarter allowing just 13 points against, taking a 56-45 lead into the fourth quarter.
Storm had their best quarter in the final 10 minutes putting 24 points on the board, but their defence was unable to hold the powerful Rockets offence allowing 18 points. The Rockets took the game 82-63.
Scoring for the Rockets were Matt Laframboise with 21 points, Luc Cantin with 16, Macen Birch with 12, Dominic Gott with eight, Matt Pietrkiewicz and Aidan McPhail with seven each, Dylan Clune with five, Noah Picnic with three, Callum Tait with a deuce and Samuel Cantin with a single.
