EMBRUN—The Embrun Panthers played a pair of home games this past weekend as they welcomed the Ottawa Jr. Canadians on Friday night and the Alexandria Glens on Sunday afternoon.

The Embrun Panthers welcomed the Alexandria Glens to the Palais des Sports on Sun., Feb. 16, in the CCHL2. The Panthers went into the game in a third-place tie with the Casselman Vikings now sitting five points behind the Ottawa Jr. Canadians in second place.
The Panthers opened the scoring at 8:21 of the first period as Maverick Laurie roofed his fifth goal of the season from Jarrett Ladouceur and Juno Gregoire taking a 1-0 lead. The Panthers carried the 1-0 lead into the first intermission.
The Panthers made it 2-0 when Nathan Everett pounded home his first goal of the season from Robert Beaudoin and Nathan Brown at 8:55 of the second period. The Panthers took a three-goal lead when Marshall Drevniok scored his 13th of the season from Tristan Taillefer and John Mahoney on the power play at 15:01.
The Glens got back to within two at 16:33 and to within one just 19 seconds later. The Panthers took a 3-2 lead into the second intermission. The Panthers made it 4-2 at 9:53 as Eric Skyba scored his 16th of the season from Carter Peck and 5-2 at 11:25 when Taillefer scored his 29th of the season from Riley Carisse and Drevniok.
The Glens answered with a pair of goals at 17:17 and 18:57 on the power play to move to within one. The Glens pulled their goalie in favour of an extra attacker with just over a minute remaining in regulation but that backfired as Panthers’ Cayden Martin scored his eighth of the season into the abandoned cage with just 11 seconds remaining for Skyba.
The Panthers took the game 6-4. With the win, the Panthers moved to within three points of the Ottawa Jr. Canadians in second place and moved two up on the Casselman Vikings in fourth. The Panthers outshot the Glens 31-30.
Picking up the win in the Panthers’ goal was Marco Latassa making 26 saves.

The Embrun Panthers welcomed the Ottawa Jr. Canadians to the Palais des Sports on Fri., Feb. 14, in the CCHL2. The Panthers went into the game in third place, in the Martin Division, just one point behind the Canadians in second place and one point ahead of the Casselman Vikings in fourth.
The teams battled to a scoreless first period but the Canadians opened the scoring at 8:37 of the second period. The Canadians took a two-goal lead at 16:26 and took a 2-0 lead into the second intermission.
The Panthers cut the deficit in half when Tristan Taillefer snapped home his 28th goal of the season from Marshall Drevniok and Riley Carisse at 6:48. The Panthers pulled their goalie in favour of an extra attacker with just over a minute remaining but the Canadians were able to hang on for a 2-1 victory.
The Panthers outshot the Canadians 35-32. With the loss the Panthers fell three points behind the Canadians in second place. Suffering the loss in the Panthers’ goal was William Nguyen making 30 saves.
