CHESTERVILLE – For a decade, the Chesterville & District Historical Society has held a holiday crokinole tournament in December. The 2019 tournament was held on Tues., Dec. 17 in the Heritage Centre on Victoria Street in Chesterville. Ten teams of two players enjoyed the evening competing for the trophy while visiting with friends and raising money for Community Food Share. CDHS president Ashley Harper described the evening as a good social event.
Carolyn Thompson Goddard, grew up in Chesterville and attended North Dundas District High School. After completing her BA in Political Science at Carleton University she has worked as a medical secretary and library technician. In 2020 she graduated from Algonquin College with a diploma in Journalism and has been a reporter and column writer for The Chesterville Record for over 10 years.
