There was a steady stream of visitors from all age groups to the South Stormont Fire Station No. 3 in Newington on Dec. 15. All were there to enjoy a hot dog lunch, visit with friends and, of course, have a chat with Santa Claus. The Christmas event was organized by the Newington Fire Fighters Association. The organizers wish to thank Randy and Carol Moak who provided funds for the event as well as Country Corner Convenience Newington for their donation. There were plans to continue the seasonal fun with a wagon ride and carolling in the community during the early evening. Santa had a bit of a break from hearing Christmas wishes, so a group of firefighters and youngsters were able to have their picture taken with the Jolly Old Elf himself. Thompson Goddard photo
