The Embrun Panthers welcomed the Alexandria Glens to the Palais des Sports on Fri., Nov. 29, in the CCHL2. The Panthers welcomed back their star forward Riley Carisse (83) to the line up this past weekend and it paid immediate dividends as he scored two goals in his first two games, including the game winner against the Casselman Vikings. ARNPRIOR—The Embrun Panthers played a trio of games this past weekend as they travelled to Casselman on Thursday night, welcomed the Alexandria Glens on Friday night and hit the road on Sunday to Arnprior to take on the Packers.
Packers 4 Panthers 3 (OT)
The Embrun Panthers travelled to the Nick Smith Arena in Arnprior on Sun., Dec. 1, to take on the Packers in the CCHL2. The Panthers were coming off a big 6-2 victory over the Alexandria Glens in their previous game and sat in a two-way tie for first place in the Martin Division with the Ottawa West Golden Knights.
The Packers opened the scoring at 15:38 of the first period and took a 1-0 lead into the first intermission. The Panthers knotted the affair at one when Juno Gregoire scored his eighth of the season from Marshall Drevniok and Carter Peck at 7:34 of the second period.
The Panthers took their first lead of the game when Maverick Labrie scored his fourth of the season unassisted at 11:25. The Packers tied the game at two at 13:42 on the power play but the Panthers retook the lead at 16:21 as Nathan Brown scored his second of the season from Charlie Belanger.
The Panthers took a 3-2 lead into the second intermission. The Packers tied the game again at 11:29 of the third period but this time were able to hold on, sending the game to a five-minute three-on-three overtime period.
The Panthers had a chance with a power play early in the overtime but the Packers were able to kill it off and at 4:14 the Packers scored the game winner taking the game 4-3. With the single point, the Panthers moved into sole possession of first place in the Martin Division.
The Panthers outshot the Packers 43-41. Suffering the loss in the Panthers’ goal was Marco Latassa making 37 saves.
Panthers 6 Glens 2

The Panthers were coming off a big 3-2 victory over the Casselman Vikings and temporarily moved into a first-place tie with the Ottawa West Golden Knights but the Golden Knights won their game to move two points ahead of the Panthers, so the Panthers sat in second in the Martin Division.
The Panthers opened the scoring at 5:19 of the first period as Riley Carisse scored his second goal, the season from Eric Skyba and Tristan Taillefer taking a 1-0 lead. The Panthers made it 2-0 when Matthieu Brennan blasted one home from the blue line for his second of the season from Maverick Labrie and John Mahoney on the power play at 6:08.
The Panthers took a three-goal lead when Taillefer scored his 19th of the season from Skyba and Brennan at 8:47. The Panthers held a 3-0 at the first intermission. The Panthers made it 4-0 when Skyba scored his eight of the season from Taillefer and Marshall Drevniok at 12:22 of the second period.
The Glens finally got on the scoresheet at 13:05 but the Panthers answered as Skyba scored his second of the game from Cameron MacMillan while shorthanded. The Panthers took a 5-1 lead into the second intermission.
The Glens got to within three at 11:52 of the third period but the Panthers retook a four-goal lead when Drevniok scored his fourth of the season from Luke Peck and William Nguyen with just 22 seconds remaining in the game.
The Panthers took the game 6-2 moving back to a first-place tie with the Ottawa West Golden Knights. The Panthers outshot the Glens 38-32. Picking up the win in the Panthers’ goal was Nguyen making 30 saves.
