ATHENS—The North Dundas Major Midget Demons played two games this past week as they welcomed the Brockville Braves on Monday night and travelled to Athens on Wednesday night to take on the Leeds Chargers.
Demons 6 Chargers 4
The North Dundas Major Midget Demons travelled to Centre 76 in Athens to take on the Leeds Chargers on Wed., Nov. 20, in the UCMHL.
The Demons opened the scoring as Curtis Bell blasted one home from Nolan Henry at 2:25 of the first period taking a 1-0 lead. The Chargers tied the game with just 1:14 remaining in the opening frame, taking a one-all draw into the second period.
The Chargers took their first lead of the game at 4:37 but the Demons got back to even when Maclean Machan scored an unassisted goal at 9:20. The Chargers retook the lead at 12:56 but the Demons tied the game again with just 1:26 remaining in the sandwich frame as Machan scored his second of the game from Emytt Fetterly and Lucas Menard.
The teams took a three-all tie into the third period. The Demons took their first lead of the game when Machan completed his hat trick at 5:31 from Fetterly. The Demons took a two-goal lead when Jaymen Heuff pounded one to the back of the net from Curtis Bowman and Owen Fetterly at the 11-minute mark.
The Demons made it 6-3 when Henry sniped one from Joshua Broad at 12:16. The Chargers added a late goal at 13:16 but it wasn’t enough as the Demons took the game 6-4. Picking up the win in the Demons’ goal was Toby Byrne.

The Demons opened the scoring when Curtis Bowman snapped one to the back of the net from Mason Carr at 6:37 of the first period taking a 1-0 lead. The Demons made it 2-0 when Curtis Bell ripped one home from Nolan Henry and Emytt Fetterly with just 20 seconds remaining in the opening frame and took the 2-0 lead into the second period.
The Demons made it 3-0 when Carr fired one to the back of the net from Blake Watters and Bowman just 1:14 into the second period. The Braves finally got on the scoresheet at 9:07 on the power play but trailed 3-1 heading into the third period.
The Demons made it 4-1 as Jaymen Heuff blasted one home from Owen Richardson and Bowman at 2:55 of the third period on the power play. The Demons took a four-goal lead when Carr scored his second of the game from Bowman at 3:28.
The Demons added another goal at 13:11 as Cole Eikelboom slid one home from Heuff and Richardson on the power play taking the game 6-1. Picking up the win in the Demons’ goal was Liam Antille.
