CASSELMAN—The Casselman Vikings played just a single game this past weekend as they welcomed the Alexandria Glens on Thursday night.

The Casselman Vikings welcomed the Alexandria Glens to the J. R. Brisson Complex on Thurs., Nov. 21, in the CCHL2. The Vikings sat in first place in the Martin Division just one point ahead of the second place Ottawa West Golden Knights and the Embrun Panthers.
The Vikings opened the scoring at 9:53 as Alexandre Charlebois blasted home his seventh goal of the season from Mathieu Talbot and François Drouin on the power play. The Vikings took the 1-0 lead into the first intermission.
The Vikings made it 2-0 when Jason Cossette scored his ninth of the season unassisted on the power play just 1:46 into the second period. Cossette scored his second of the game and 10th of the season at 8:36 from Nicolas Chartrand and Zachary Fournier to give the Vikings a 3-0 lead.
The Vikings made it 4-0 when Mathieu Talbot scored his 15th of the season from Cossette and Chartrand on the power play. Cossette completed his hat trick at 17:33 scoring his 11th of the season from Joshua Desjardins and Zachary Power on another power play to give the Vikings a five-goal lead.
The Vikings took a 5-0 lead into the second intermission. The Vikings made it 6-0 when Power scored his fifth of the season from Samuel Lacroix and Mikael Houle at 3:22 of the third period. The Glens finally got on the board at 6:35 on the power play and at 7:59 also on the power play.
The Vikings made it 7-2 when Mikaël Bissonnette scored his second of the season from Desjardins at 8:11 but the Glens answered with a pair of goals at 10:13 on the power play and at 10:29. The Vikings closed out the scoring when Fournier scored his fourth of the season from Power with just 27 seconds remaining in regulation into an empty net after the Glens pulled their goalie for an extra attacker.
The Vikings took the game 8-4 but failed to put distance between themselves and the Golden Knights as they also won, moving to within one point of the Vikings in first. The Vikings outshot the Glens 37-24. Picking up the win in the Vikings’ goal was Nick Campbell making 20 saves.
