Rockets’ all-time regular season point getter
The Rockets’ alternate captain, Justin Lefebvre (11) became the Rockets’ all-time regular season point getter after scoring his 151st point when he scored the first goal against the West Carleton Inferno on Sun., Nov. 17, at the Chesterville Arena. CHESTERVILLE—The North Dundas Rockets played a pair of games over the weekend as they travelled to Morrisburg on Saturday night to take on the Lions and welcomed the West Carleton Inferno on Sunday afternoon.

The North Dundas Rockets welcomed the West Carleton Inferno to the Chesterville Arena on Sun., Nov. 17, in the NCJHL. The Rockets went into the game in second place, 11 points behind the South Grenville Rangers in first, two points up on the Metcalfe Jets in third in the West Division. 

The Inferno sat in fourth place with three wins in the season, one against the Rockets about a month past. The Rockets opened the scoring at 10:40 of the first period as Justin Lefebvre smacked one to the back of the net from Joel Hunt and Josh Tapp taking a 1-0 lead. 

The Inferno tied the game at 13:50 but the Rockets answered with 1:06 remaining in the first period, as Jarrett Williams swatted one home from Zenin Biron and Aiden Whynot on the power play. The Inferno tied the game at two with just 27 seconds remaining and took their first lead with just one second showing on the clock in the opening frame. The Inferno took a 3-2 lead into the first intermission. 

The Rockets tied the game just 32 seconds into the second period as Hunt snapped one home from Nicholas Carroll and Lefebvre. The Rockets retook the lead when Biron scored his first goal as a Rocket from Francis Proulx and Whynot at 1:21. 

The Rockets made it 5-3 when Williams scored his second of the game from Hunt on the power play at 4:30. Williams completed his hat trick at 5:18 from Proulx and Whynot to give the Rockets a three-goal lead. The Rockets took a 6-3 lead into the second intermission. 

The Inferno got back to within two at 5:41 but the Rockets restored their three-goal lead as Williams scored his fourth of the game from Hunt and Lefebvre on the power play at 9:56. 

The Rockets made it 8-4 at 9:27 when Hunt scored his second of the game from Carroll and Lefebvre at 10:33 and closed out the scoring when Carrol sniped one from Hunt and Jack Dewan on the power play at 13:16. The Rockets took the game 9-4 moving to within nine points of the first place Rangers. 

Hunt had a good weekend scoring six goals and seven assists for 13 points, Lefebvre scored four goals and six assists for 10 points becoming the Rockets’ all time scoring leader and Williams scored four goals and three assists for seven points. 

Both Hunt and Lefebvre are now tied for second place in the top ten in scoring in the NCJHL. The Rockets outshot the Inferno 42-33. Picking up the win in the Rockets’ goal was Emerson Hunt making 29 saves.

Rockets 10 Lions 2

The North Dundas Rockets travelled to the Morrisburg Arena on Sat., Nov. 16, to take on the Lions in the NCJHL. The Rockets went into the game in second place in the West Division, 11 points behind the first place South Grenville Rangers while the Lions sat in last place in the West Division with just one win and a tie for three points. 

The Rockets opened the scoring when Justin Lefebvre banged one home from Joel Hunt and Nicholas Carroll at 4:40 of the first period taking a 1-0 lead. The Rockets made it 2-0 when Hunt riffled one home from Lefebvre and Jarrett Williams at 8:15 on the power play. 

The Rockets maintained the pressure and at 13:39, Lefebvre scored his second of the game from Carroll and Hunt to take a three-goal lead. The Lions closed the gap to two when Aiden Daly scored from Kayne McCadden and Jack Ingram with just 56 seconds remaining in the opening frame. The Rockets took a 3-1 lead into the first intermission. 

It only took the Rockets 34 seconds into the second period to make it 4-1, as Hunt scored his second of the game from Williams and Lefebvre. The Lions answered at 3:07 as Jake Amp slammed home a rebound from Justin Shay and Tyson Sherrer but the Rockets retook a three-goal lead when Williams snapped one home from Jack Van Kessel and Brad Nash at 10:53. 

The Lions had a power play chance to close the gap but Brad Nash stole the puck and went on a breakaway ripping one past the Lions goalie, Kamden Sabourin, at 13:20. The Rockets closed out the scoring in the middle frame as Cole Hedges roofed one from Jack Dewan and Will Watson at 15:07. The Rockets took a 7-2 lead into the second intermission. 

The Rockets were relentless taking a six-goal lead when Lefebvre completed his hat trick at 3:11 of the third period from Hunt and Matt Pietrkiewicz. 

The Rockets made it 9-2 when Hunt completed his hat trick at 6:08 from Lefebvre and Cameron Brown. The Rockets closed out the scoring at 7:53 as Francis Proulx slid one home from Williams making it 10-2. 

The Rockets held on, taking the game 10-2 handing the Lions their 10th loss of the season, and improving to 6-6-1 for 13 points. The Rockets outshot the Lions 57-31. Picking up the win in the Rockets’ goal was Sebastien Moreau making 29 saves and suffering the loss for the Lions was Sabourin.
