EMBRUN—The Embrun Panthers played a pair of home games this past weekend as they welcomed the Brockville Tikis on Friday night and the Perth Blue Wings on Sunday afternoon.

The Embrun panthers welcomed the Perth Blue Wings to the Palais des Sports on Sun., Nov. 17, in the CCHL2. The Panthers were coming off a huge 1-0 defensively fought victory the previous night in their previous game, to move into sole possession of third place.
With a win, the Panthers could move into a second place tie with the Ottawa West Golden Knights. For the second straight game, the Panthers battled the visiting team to a scoreless first period with the shots on goal even at 12 each.
The Panthers opened the scoring at 13:18 of the first period as John Mahoney scored his first goal of the season from Eric Skyba on the power play making it 1-0. The Panthers went up by two when Tristan Taillefer scored his 16th of the season from Jarrett Ladouceur. The Panthers took a 2-0 lead into the second intermission completing their fifth straight shutout period over the weekend.
The Panthers made it 3-0 when Skyba scored his fifth of the season from Robert Beaudoin and Mathieu Brennan just 54 seconds into the third period on the power play.
The Blue Wings got on the scoreboard at 12:14 on the power play and with time winding down they got to within one, with just 32 seconds remaining in regulation. The Panthers’ defence shut the Blue Wings down for the rest of regulation taking the game 3-2.
With the win, the Panthers moved into a second place tie with the Ottawa West Golden Knights in the Martin Division. The Panthers outshot the Blue Wings 34-33. Picking up the win in the Panthers’ goal was William Nguyen making 31 saves.

The Embrun Panthers welcomed the Brockville Tikis to the Palais des Sports on Fri., Nov. 15, in the NCJHL. The Panthers went into the game sitting in a third place tie with the Ottawa Jr. Canadians and two points behind the Ottawa West Golden Knights in second place in the Martin Division.
The teams battled to a scoreless first period with the Panthers outshooting the Tikis 15-12. The Panthers opened the scoring at 7:02 of the second period as Eric Skyba scored his fourth goal of the season from Carter Peck and Cameron MacMillan while shorthanded taking a 1-0 lead.
The Panthers outshot the Tikis again in the second period 10-7 but took a 1-0 lead into the second intermission. The Tikis had their best period in the third, outshooting the Panthers 12-9 but were unable to get a puck past the Panthers’ goalie, William Nguyen.
The Panthers hung on to shutout the Tikis 1-0. With the win, the Panthers moved into sole possession of third place. The Panthers outshot the Tikis 34-31. Picking up the win in the Panthers’ goal was Nguyen making 31 saves for his third shutout of the season.
