WINCHESTER—The Winchester #2 Bantam Girls’ Red Sox were to play two games this past week as they welcomed Kenmore #2 on Monday night and were scheduled to take on Kenmore #1 on Tuesday; unfortunately, their Tuesday night game was rained out.

The Winchester #2 Bantam Girls’ Red Sox welcomed Kenmore #2 to the Club 100 Ball Park on Mon., June 17 in the Rural Ottawa Minor Softball Association. The Red Sox put their perfect 8-0 record on the line sitting at the top of the standings.
Kenmore opened the scoring with four runs in the top of the first inning but the Red Sox battled back scoring four runs in the bottom of the first, taking a four-all draw into the second inning.
Kenmore kept the ball rolling scoring the maximum four runs in the top of the second but again, the Red Sox’ offence matched the four runs taking an eight-all draw into the third inning. Kenmore got runners in scoring position in the top of the third but were unable to bring them home. The Red Sox took advantage scoring four more runs in the bottom of the third taking a 12-8 lead into the fourth inning.
Kenmore got one back in the top of the fourth and held the Red Sox off the score sheet in the bottom of the fourth but trailed 12-9 heading into the fifth inning.
Kenmore jumped out to a one-run lead after scoring four runs in the top of the fifth. With the game on the line, the Red Sox scored their first batter to tie the game at one; and their next batter struck out. The Red Sox scored their third batter of the inning taking the game 14-13. With the win, the Red Sox moved to 9-0 on the season.
Scoring the runs for the Red Sox were Allison Roach, Alexis Sharpley and Reese Marriner with three each, Sara Sloane and Amanda Shay with two and Reavyn Baldwin with a single.
