Ravens 5 Rebels 4
In their second game of the day, the Ravens played for the PRSSAA Championship against the Vankleek Hill Collegiate Institute Rebels. Both teams had only one loss on the season and there were no playoffs this year due to the late start because of the wet weather so this game was for all the marbles.
The Rebels jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead scoring a single in the top of the first inning but the Ravens scored a pair in the bottom of the first taking a 2-1 lead into the second inning. The Rebels scored three runs in the top of the second and the Ravens had no answer in the bottom of the second as the Rebels took a 4-2 lead into the third inning.
The Rebels went three up and three down in the top of the third but the Ravens couldn’t take advantage in the bottom half of the inning, so the Rebels carried the 4-2 lead into the fourth inning.
The Rebels got their first runner to this base but the Ravens struck out the next three batters in the top of the fourth. The Ravens bats remained silent in the bottom of the fourth so the Rebels still led 4-2 heading into the fifth inning.
