The North Dundas Atom C1 Demons welcomed the Brockville C1 Braves to the Chesterville Arena on Tues., March 5, for game two of the first to three point UCMHL playoff series. CHESTERVILLE—The North Dundas Atom C1 Demons closed out their season this month with two games as they travelled to Brockville on March 3 to take on the Braves for game one in the second round of the playoffs and welcomed the Braves on March 5 for game two.
Braves 4 Demons 1
The North Dundas Atom C1 Demons welcomed the Brockville C1 Braves to the Chesterville Arena on Tues., March 5, for game two of the first to three point UCMHL playoff series. The Demons dropped the first game 2-1 and trailed the Braves two points to none heading into this game. The teams battled to a scoreless first period.
The Braves opened the scoring at 1:59 into the second period and took a two-goal lead at 4:57. The Braves kept the pressure on and scored their third goal of the game at 5:15 and took a 3-0 lead into the third period.
The Demons got one back at 4:30 of the third period as Sydney Robinson slid one home unassisted to cut the deficit to one. With time winding down in the game, the Demons’ pulled their goalie in favour of an extra attacker but that backfired as the Braves found the empty goal taking the game 4-1.
With the loss, the Demons’ season was finished. The Demons had a great year finishing fourth in the league and won two tournament titles including the Bell Capital Cup championship.
Braves 2 Demons 1
The North Dundas Atom C1 Demons travelled to the Brockville Youth Arena on Sun., March 3, to take on the Braves in round two of the first to three point UCMHL playoff series. The Demons took out the Smiths Falls Bears in two games in the first round of the playoffs and looked to do the same against the Braves.
The teams battled to a scoreless first period but the Braves took a 1-0 lead just 45 seconds into the second period. The Demons tied the game at one when Jack Robinson snapped one home from Aiden LeClair at 2:54.
The teams took a one-all draw into the third period. The Braves retook the lead at 1:25 of the third period and were able to hold off the Demons’ offence. The Braves took the game 2-1 and lead the series two points to none heading back to Chesterville. Suffering the loss in the Demons’ goal was Matthew Seguin.
