KEMPTVILLE—The North Dundas Major Midget Demons played two games this past week to close out their regular season as they travelled to Perth to take on the Perth Lanark Blue Wings on Sunday night and onto Kemptville on Thursday night to take on the Panthers.

The North Dundas Major Midget Demons travelled to the North Grenville Municipal Centre in Kemptville on Thurs., Feb. 21 for their last game of the regular season in the UCMHL. The Demons went into the game just one point behind the Cornwall Colts as they had a chance to jump into sole possession of second place heading into the playoffs.
The Demons opened the scoring just 1:42 into the first period as Joey Hannaford slapped one home from Curtis Bell and Brad McLean taking a 1-0 lead. The Demons made it 2-0 when Bell sniped one from Blake Waters and took that lead into the second period.
The Panthers fought back scoring goals at 6:15 and 9:03 to tie the game at two heading into the third period.
The Panthers took their first lead of the game at just 2:26 of the third. The Demons tried to tie the game but the Panthers were able to hang on for the 3-2 victory.
With the loss, the Demons finished the season in third place and will move on to face the Leeds Chargers in round one of the first to the four points series in the UCMHL playoffs. Suffering the loss in the Demons’ goal was Toby Byrne.
Demons 2 Blue Wings 1
The North Dundas Major Midget Demons travelled to the Perth Arena on Sun., Feb. 17, to take on the Perth Lanark Blue Wings in the UCMHL. The Demons went into the game sitting in third place, three points behind the Cornwall Colts in second place and just four points up on the Kemptville Panthers in fourth.
The Demons opened the scoring when Dean Lapier snapped one home from Cam Sherrer at 10:20 of the first period to take a 1-0 lead. The Demons took the 1-0 lead into the second period. The Blue Wings tied the game at 6:03 of the second period and the teams took a one-all draw into the third period.
The Demons retook the lead when Curtis Bell pounded one to the back of the net from Blake Waters at 13:36 of the third period. The Demons were able to hang on for their 15th win of the season. With the win, they move to within one point of the second place Colts with one game left.
Picking up the win in the Demons goal was Liam Antille.

The Demons travel to Centre 76 in Athens to take on the Leeds Chargers for game two of the first to four points playoff series on Thurs., Feb. 28, at 8:30 p.m. and welcome the Chargers to the Joel Steele Community Centre in Winchester on Fri., Mar. 1, at 8 p.m.
