WILLIAMSTOWN—The Casselman Vikings were supposed to play two games this past weekend but their game on Thursday night was postponed due to the weather. However, they were able to travel to Williamstown on Saturday night to take on the Rebels.

The Casselman Vikings travelled to the Char-Lan Recreation Centre in Williamstown on Sat., Feb. 9, in the CCHL2. The Vikings went into the game in second place, 12 points behind the first place Ottawa Jr. Canadians and five points ahead of the Ottawa West Golden Knights.
The Vikings opened the scoring at 6:18 of the first period as Joel Hunt scored his 28th goal of the season from Gabriel Rousselle taking a 1-0 lead. The Vikings took the 1-0 lead into the first intermission.
The Rebels tied the game on the power play at 4:21 of the second period and took their first lead of the game at 17:21. The Rebels took a 2-1 lead into the second intermission.
The Vikings were only able to fire six shots at the Rebels’ goal in the third period. The Vikings pulled their goalie in favour of an extra attacker with just over a minute remaining in regulation but it was the Rebels scoring in the abandoned cage with just 46 seconds remaining taking the game 3-1.
The Vikings failed to gain ground on the Canadians in first place. The Rebels outshot the Vikings 30-21. Suffering the loss in the Vikings’ goal was Nick Campbell making 27 saves.
