EMBRUN—The Embrun Panthers played two home games this past weekend as they welcomed the Ottawa West Golden Knights on Friday night and the Alexandria Glens on Sunday afternoon.
Glens 5 Panthers 3
The Embrun Panthers welcomed the Alexandria Glens to the Palais des Sports on Sun., Feb. 10, in the CCHL2. The Panthers were coming off a lopsided loss to the Ottawa West Golden Knights in their previous game and sat three points behind the Winchester Hawks in sixth place in the Martin Division.
The Glens opened the scoring at 2:37 of the first period taking a 1-0 lead. The Panthers tied the game at 3:35 as Cayden Martin scored his seventh goal of the season from Marc Brosseau, Mathieu O’Toole and Kyle Green. The teams took a one-all draw into the first intermission.
The Panthers grabbed their first lead of the game as Brosseau scored his 13th of the season from O’Toole and Nathan Brown at 13:09 of the second period. The Glens tied the game for the second time at 13:38 and took a two-all draw into the second intermission.
The Panthers retook the lead when Brosseau scored his second of the game and 14th of the season from Robert Beaudoin just 33 seconds into the third period.
The Glens tied the game again at 6:28 on the power play and took their second lead of the game at 17:31 on another power play. The Panthers pulled their goalie in favour of an extra attacker with just over a minute remaining in regulation but that backfired as the Glens found the yawning cage at the far end, taking the game 5-3.
The Panthers outshot the Glens 40-30. Suffering the loss in the Panthers’ goal was Joshua Ivanski making 25 saves.

The Embrun Panthers welcomed the Ottawa West Golden Knights to the Palais des Sports on Fri., Feb. 8, in the CCHL2. The Panthers went into the game in seventh place in the Martin Division just two points behind the Winchester Hawks in sixth.
The Golden Knights opened the scoring at 16:45 of the first period to take a 1-0 lead and took a two-goal lead at 17:50. The Golden Knights took the 2-0 lead into the first intermission.
The Panthers cut the deficit in half when Nathan Brown scored his fifth goal of the season from Marc Brosseau and Alan Njima on the power play at 13:21 of the second period. The Golden Knights restored their two-goal lead at 14:22 and took a three-goal lead with just 1:04 remaining in the middle frame. The Golden Knights took a 4-1 lead into the second intermission.
The Golden Knights added a pair of goals in the third period at 10:33 and 17:33 on the power play taking the game 6-1. The Panthers fell three points behind the Hawks after the Hawks took the Char-Lan Rebels to overtime picking up a single point.
The Golden Knights outshot the Panthers 34-18. Suffering the loss in the Panthers’ goal was Cody MacEachern making 28 saves.
