The Russell Coyotes Bantam B Competitive Girls’ Hockey team won the TCS Hockey Winter Outdoor Classic Cup on the weekend of Feb. 2-5. BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Russell Coyotes Bantam B Competitive Girls’ Hockey team travelled to Buffalo, New York, on the weekend of Feb. 2-5 for the TCS Hockey Winter Outdoor Classic Cup and brought home the gold medal. The Coyotes played Friday against Columbus CCYHA from Dublin, Ohio, in Buffalo, and won 4-0.
On Saturday, the Coyotes played in Niagara Falls, N.Y. against MCYH Edge from Rochester and lost 3-2. The Coyotes then travelled back to Buffalo to take on the Lapeer Hurricanes from Michigan and won 7-0.
On Sunday morning, the Coyotes were back in Niagara to take on the Clarington Flames from Bowmanville and won 3-0. With that win, the Coyotes were off to the final against the team that beat them in the round robin – the MCYH Edge of Rochester – in East Aurora. The Coyotes returned the favour beating the Edge 3-2 and claimed the championship.
