Last year, Maheu Furniture in Embrun celebrated 120 years in business, and this year is its last. Fourth-generation owners of the family business, Jacques Maheu and his sister Suzanne Lemieux, are retiring, and attempts to sell the business have not been successful, so they are liquidating stock. So far no date has been set for the closing — but the store is closed on Mondays and open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.       Vetter photo
