INGLESIDE – On Fri., June 16, new SG Wells owner David Cassell and his wife Cindy Cassell unveiled the newly renovated building for the 80th anniversary of the business.
Cassell took over the shop two years ago after Mark Wells sold the franchise out of the family. What was started by Wells’ grandfather Sandford Wells and followed by Merle Wells and later Mark Wells, finally came to a new chapter with Cassell.
Wells’ wife Elise said they were happy to see the business still going but were bittersweet about walking away from the family business. Cassell was a good fit for the takeover because of his “values and passion,” said Denis Schofield, Marketing Representation Manager at Ford Motor Company Canada. Jim Hartford, Vice-President Marketing at Ford Motor Company Canada added that he was excited about the future of SG Wells and Cassell’s, “commitment to the community, staff and brand.”
MP Guy Lauzon said it best when he wished Cassell another 80 years of success. The 80th anniversary was followed up the next day by a Mustang Club Show and Shine car show and charity barbecue.
