CHESTERVILLE – While the weather was a bit cool for a June weekend, it didn’t stop approximately 2,000 people coming out to experience the sights, sounds and smells of the Art on the Waterfront held on June 3 and 4 in Chesterville! From the smell of food cooking to the sounds of performers at the refreshment tents to the beautiful items for sale along the waterfront there seemed to be something for everyone during this annual event with vendors, craftspeople and performers.

The MacCulloch Dancers danced their way into the hearts of the audience, the children’s area off Water Street entertained people of all ages with an incredible selection of activities, and 50 plus vendors provided the opportunity to pick up something for that special someone.

The Chesterville Fire Department was on hand as was Sparky the Fire Dog on Saturday much to the delight of children. The Gathering House provided an opportunity for the quilt and train shows, both of which appealed to people of all ages. The Chesterville Heritage Centre was open during the event showcasing the history of the area.

Organizer Cheryl Beasley, who with the help of her team of hardworking volunteers put together this extravaganza of local culture, will have a bit of time to rest before beginning the process of planning for next year’s event scheduled for June 2 and 3, 2018. She said she was very pleased with the event, “so proud of the volunteers” and “over the moon happy with the event.”

This sentiment would certainly be shared by all of those who visited this year’s Art on the Waterfront Festival.
